Exceptionally Fine and Important Chippendale Period George ll Mahogany Bureau Bookcase of small super proportions. The upper part with a broken swan-neck pediment with dentil moulding, the scrolls terminating with carved flower heads, above a moulded cornice and a pair of astragal glazed doors enclosing two adjustable shelves and a small brass inlaid central door, flanked by six pigeon holes and six short drawers above two candle slides.

The well figured sloping fall enclosing a green tooled leather writing surface, a fitted fret carved interior around a central arched pigeon hole, flanked by two short drawers and four further pigeon holes, and further large arched pigeon holes above eight further drawers of varying sizes. Sitting on four long graduated drawers on bracket feet. Original gilt rococo handles. Fabulous quality and proportions. A truly stunning testament to the fine quality of English 18th century cabinet making.

George III Mahogany Library Breakfront Bookcase. The paneled glazed doors to the upper section enclosing fully adjustable book shelving, the four cupboard doors beneath of flame mahogany within raised moulding. Excellent proportions and colour.
